Corso di ADVANCED ISOTOPE GEOCHEMISTRY – 6 CFU
Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Volcanology
A.A. 2024/2025 – Primo semestre
Università di Napoli Federico II – Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra, dell'Ambiente e delle Risorse (DiSTAR)
Docente/Teacher: Massimo D’Antonio (
The course will deal with applications of radiogenic (such as Sr, Nd, Pb, Hf, Os) and stable (such as H, O, N, C, Li, B) isotope geochemistry in conjunction with major and trace-element geochemistry to a great variety of volcanological and petrological issues. These include radiometric dating of volcanic rocks; closed- vs. open-system magma evolution processes; pre- and syn-eruptive magmatic processes; relationships between magma composition and eruption dynamics; identification of mantle and crustal components in the petrogenesis of igneous rocks; geodynamic framework of igneous rock associations.
